Cryoblasting is, without a doubt, the best method for removing mold that has penetrated into floor joists and sub-flooring.  Cryoblasting utilizes dry ice pellets which are very aggressive on mold and mold-damaged wood.  The pellets sublimate upon contact leaving no messy residue unlike sanding and/or grinding. The wood is also left in structurally sound condition.  Sanding or grinding do not effectively remove the penetrative mold hyphae from the wood.
